The third graders at Hailmann Elementary School recently studied the learning challenges faced by students around the world, from children living in remote villages in the mountains of Zimbabwe to librarians bringing books by boat to children in Finland. As part of this study, students learned about programs offered by the La Porte County Public Library right in our own community. They worked together to help promote a brand new program in our area: the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, which provides free books monthly to children ages 0-5. The following video explains the program and was written, directed by, as well as stars, the Hailmann third grade class.
